The Sheriff’s Office faces significant financial decisions ahead. Families are stretched, budgets are tight, and every taxpayer dollar has to be spent wisely — while protecting the front-line services that keep our communities safe.
The Board of County Commissioners chose James Rhodes to lead through these challenges, bringing nearly three decades of law enforcement experience and years of county budget experience to the job.

And that confidence extends inside the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Rhodes is the first sitting Sheriff in many years to earn the endorsement of the Clackamas County Peace Officers Association, which represents the county’s deputies and career staff. He received 89.5% of the endorsement vote — a powerful sign of support from the men and women who know the job and serve Clackamas County every day.
